Wat is Petit Point?
Petit point is één van de verschillende soorten borduurtechnieken. Met petit point borduur je met halve steek, ofwel halve kruisjes.
Het is heel fijn borduurwerk met vele kleine halve kruisteekjes waarmee je ingewikkelde patronen kunt borduren. Petit betekend in het Frans: "klein".
Het borduren met de Petit Point techniek wordt over het algemeen gedaan door de meer ervaren borduursters.
Hoe werkt de halve steek borduren?
Als je gaat borduren met halve steek, wordt de borduurnaald van onder de stof door gehaald in diagonale richting. Je borduurt de helft van een kruissteek. Dit geeft een fijnere steek t.o.v. een hele kruissteek.
Deze techniek kan je een zachter en subtieler effect geven dan een volledige steek, en wordt vaak gebruikt om lichte schaduwen, texturen of details in het borduurwerk toe te voegen.
